“We want to come out of the game and feel that we have played at our best. If we do. we will be difficult to handle for everybody”
Well said Arsene. This Arsenal team is looking like a strong unit and comparison with the famous Invincibles is not out of place. The chemistry between the players is awesome especially in midfield as a lot of the players have improved; Gibbs, Ramsey, Koscienly are playing out of the top draw.
The gooners would have the opportunity to get maximum points from 3 games in the ‘group of death’. A win over Dortmund would almost guarantee qualification and most likely a top place finish.
However, Dortmund are no small team. Jurgen Klopp has developed a well refined side of young and determined players with a very high technical ability. Marco Reus, Sven Bender, Lewandowksi are one the best players in their respective positions in Europe. The game would be one to look forward to as it promises to be an open game as the boss said ‘they won’t hide and nor will we’, so expect to see fireworks on both sides. Dortmund would want to win this as losing the game would mean that they would have 3 points from maximum points and would be in serious danger of not qualifying.
To injury news, Flamini has been ruled out despite training with squad as Wenger has decided to follow the Doctor’s advice and give the French man 5 days rest. Theo Walcott was supposed to be in the squad for this game but has a set back and would miss the next three games(Dortmund, Palace, Chelsea). Apart from that the usual suspects are still on the rehabilitation table and the team that faced Norwich remain the same.
EXPECTED LINE UP: I would expect Wenger to make one change to the team that beat the Canaries on Saturday. Ramsey would be the obvious choice to replace Flamini in the central of midfield. Apart from that enforced change, I believe that the starting 11 would be same.
Szczesny; Gibbs, Mertesacker, Koscienly, Sagna; Ramsey, Arteta; Wilshere, Ozil, Carzolla; Giroud
For Dortmund, i expect the normal suspects in Lewandowski, Hummels, Subotoc, Reus, Bender. I would also expect Klopp to start Gabonese Speedster Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in order to stretch the gooner’s defense.
Many anti-Arsenal pundits would want to see how Arsenal would perform against a quality side like Dortmund, but when the Big Party comes, the big boys show up and these gooners are looking like the big boys #coyg
HAPPY 64TH BIRTHDAY TO THE MAN THAT MAKES ME LOVE ARSENAL…..ARSENE WENGER
