Arsenal would need to win this game to return to the top of the table especially with Chelsea and Manchester City winning over the weekend. The gooners have had nine days of rest and preparation for this game as a result, should be fresh and ready to go. The last time, Arsenal played in the league, we needed a Bendtner goal to break Cardiff’s resistance; that shows that many teams would tighten up when playing us and thus we have to find a way of breaking down teams especially when they setup to absorb pressure.
Vila would not be an easy game, Paul Lambert’s side is very unpredictable and you don’t really know what to expect from them. After beating Arsenal and Manchester city, they have lost to relegation teams like Crystal Palace at home and even though they are 11th in the table, they must be careful as they are just 5 points away from the danger zone.
Villa’s season has been characterized by one single incident: Benteke’s goal drought. The Belgian forward has not scored since September and for a player that had a superb season and was courted by the big teams, that is terrible. Still, Benteke is still a quality player and even though is passing through a very rough patch; we must not take him likely.
The gooners would be entering into this clash full of confidence. After the mini slump in form where we picked up just 2 points in the games against Everton, Chelsea and City; we have had good wins over Newcastle, West Ham, Cardiff and Tottenham in the FA Cup. They should be up for this especially that Villa had won in the first game at the Emirates and would want to give the fans something extra to cheer about by winning the Lambert’s side.

Aston Villa have been awful at home this season, they have the worst home record in the league, only better than Sunderland. They have also scored the east number of goals at home this season, 7.
That means that today’s game would be a game between the side with the best away form and the side with a woeful home record.
