Arsenal consolidated their top of the table status with a Santi Carzola inspired 2-0 victory over resilient Fulham. The west Londoners were looking to spoil the party for the gooners, but after a drab first half, the gooners cancelled any such belief with a two goals in 5 minutes from the super Spaniard. The first was a beautifully worked goal and 5 minutes after; a well-placed shot sealed the victory. Even though Fulham did not give in, the gooners were still good for the points.

SZCZESNY: the pole had a good game, made a jaw dropping save from Sidwell in the 26 minute and had a decent game apart from late on, when he almost gave Bent a goal and in the last minute when he didn’t handle Kasami’s shot well. Good game from the number one. 7

MONREAL: did not have a very good first half but improved in the second. Was instrumental in the second goal and did very well defensively especially in dealing with Dejagah’s threat. 7

MERTESACKER: the BFG had another decent game; as usual read the game very well and also dealt with whatever aerial threat Fulham brought forward. 7.5

KOSCIENLY: Laurent’s partnership with Per was another high point today. They both did very well, Koscienly was instrumental in the clean sheet and almost got a goal himself. 7.5

SAGNA: offensively, he was average but defensively, he was awesome. Made a lot of tackles and won a couple of aerial balls. A major jigsaw in the puzzle of Arsenal’s defence. 7

FLAMINI: was full of running and worked very hard. Won the ball a lot of times and gave the other players confidence going forward. His partnership with Wilshere is worth putting an eye on. 7

WILSHERE: did very well again today. Was awesome, held the ball very well and recently gives the ball away less often. Gave a sumptuous assist to Carzola for the first goal. Decent game from Jack. 8

CARZOLA: had a not too brilliant first half, but sparked into life in the second, his two great goals in 5 minutes gave the gooners all three points, good one for the little Spaniard. 8.5 (MOTM)

OZIL: not a very great game from Mesut but did very well with his passing. He was surely the subject if intense marking from the Fulham players and had to drop deep a lot of times, denying Arsenal that attacking cutting edge especially in the first half. 6.5

GNABRY: was surely our most lively player in the first half and had two chances to score. Also did very well in the second and would have scored on two occasions if not for some defensive blocks and an inspired save from the Fulham keeper. 7.5

GIROUD: was clearly over crowded by the Fulham defence and had to drop deep a pt. cleary did not win his battle with Hangeland. 6.5

SUBS:Podolski (6.5), Chamberlain (6)

This game was not as easy as the score line suggests, Fulham put in a good display, but in the end, the three points matter. #COYG
