Over the past days, the media has been cooking up the flame of rivalry between Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho, while there has been wide spread criticism for Mourinho’s comments, Gooner of Steel believes that the self-acclaimed ‘special one’, or ‘only one’ or ‘happy one’ or ‘whatever one’, got his claims very wrong, Arsene is not a specialist in failure, but A SPECIALIST IN REVENGE.

This was the first game of this season and we all thought that it would be a routine victory when Giroud put the ball into the net as early as the 5th minute but the game turned on his head and the rest is history; we lost that game, 3-1, there was a serious outcry from the fans and we were labeled a club in crisis.

Few months later, we met with the same Villa side, this time, top of the league and high in confidence, while Villa was languishing in relegation waters and had a Benteke scoring crisis. The revenge was melted out to them. Again Giroud scored just a minute after Jack Wilshere had put the gooners ahead, not even a late Benteke goal could take away the sweetness from the revenge mission.

High flying German side, Dortmund arrived at the Emirates for the UEFA Champions League game looking to get one over the gooners. We had just beaten Marseille and Napoli and were high on confidence especially that we were doing well in the Group of Death. Minutes into the encounter, Mkhitaryan struck from a loose ball from Ramsey, Giroud responded before half time but despite our second half dominance, Lewandowski struck late on to give the Signal Iduna Park boys all three points, it was very painful and qualification started looking bleak.

About a month later, we went to the noisy Signal Iduna Park and despite all odds recorded a morale boosting victory. A ground that Dortmund was almost invincible and where Bayern and Real Madrid have been slaughtered became a happy hunting ground for the gooners thanks to a precise header from Ramsey in the 62 minute and a world class defensive display. A revenge mission that was well savored.

Last week Saturday, Arsenal were massacred by Liverpool, at some point, my eyes became red when I saw my darling team torn to shreds in 20 minutes of madness. It was very painful, after the first 20 minutes, it became a case of damage limitation and not trying to equalize. We were lambasted at all corners of the media, to them our title hope was up in flames and the team they once praised were seen as mediocre. It was hard to bear.

Seven days after, we got our opportunity, this time, it was not a fight for three points but a place in the next round of the FA Cup, the perfect avenue to get our revenge and we duly did, this time with few tinkering in the squad. Goals from Oxlade-Chamberlain and Podolski, a heartwarming start for Yaya Sanogo, a man of the match performance form second choice keeper, Fabianski. They inflicted the loss of three points on us but we revenged with elimination from a cup competition. The sweetest revenge.

This shows a trend, this team play for the fans. As supporters of this great club there is nothing sweeter that revenge in football. Manchester City, Everton and Chelsea, brace yourselves, we are coming for you. # COYG
