At last, the .end of football boredom is close. Nothing seems to make sense any longer and the insatiable desire to see Arsenal play again can sometimes be just unexplainable. The desire for football seems to be like that of a Vampire thirsting for blood….lol

Our wait is over and the list of the players that would persecute the Asian Barclay’s Cup has been released. No need to bore you with the names of the players but rather excite you with key talking points about the list.

That would surely feel odd at first. For a keeper that has been a stalwart for cross town rivals for more than a dozen wear our colours would surely be a site I want to see. I am very sure many Chelsea fans would be as anxious as I am to see how well he performs as a gooner.

Every pre-season is like a fresh slate for every player to force his way into the team and it’s no different for Arsenal. With Wenger  taking a full strength squad, Gibbs and Debuchy would surely utilize every opportunity to entice the manager…

Another feature of this squad is the amount of young stars the boss has taken along. After seeing the example set by Bellerin last season, they would surely have a lot of optimism of impressing the manager. Daniel Crowley has been a leading light for the youth teams but yet to make a breakthrough with the senior team. With Maitland-Niles out on loan, this would be his chance to impress the manager. Alex Iwobi and Chris Willock are both very good on the wings and could force their way into the side with decent performances, especially Alex who is the nephew of legendary dribbler, Austin Jay Jay Okocha.
Gedion Zelalem has to finally take his chance now that his national allegiance has been settled and can’t to see what new recruit, Jeff Reine Adelaide has to offer.

One of the biggest shock is that of Wellington Silva. The Brazilian has finally gotten his work permit and so should be on tour but is left behind; maybe getting ready for the Emirates Cup. Another is Yaya Sanogo, who is reportedly a tatget for Lille. Still another surprising absentee is winter signing Krystain Belik. The Pole was expected to part of the first team. But hey, its just pre season.

This is one of the key areas of interest in this pre season. Sanchez would not be available from holiday till August 3 and would have to get back to fitness, so we should be expecting him to play again towards the end of August. That means his place on the left is free and looking for an occupant. Alex Oxlade Chamberlain is odds on favourite but should watch out for Alex Iwobi and Daniel Crowley.
