Arsenal are set to sign a new defender if all goes to plan.
According to reports from England, it is reported that the Gunners are in the market for a solid defender and they seem to have gotten their man.
It is reported that Unai Emery has sanctioned an £8 million move for Ajax defender Nicholas Tagliafico ahead of the January transfer window. It is reported that the versatile defender is a key target for Emery who has his focus on bolstering his leaky defence.
Arsenal have conceded 13 goals in ten Premier League – more than any side in the top five. Recently against Crystal Palace, the Gunners leaked two goals against a side that has struggled to score a single goal in their last two games, recording defeats against Everton and Wolves.
This performance may have seen Emery look elsewhere for solutions as he has chosen Nicholas as the man to help solidify his back four. The 26-year-old seems to be the man as he can also play from the left back and in the centre back positions.
Laurent Koscielny has been linked with a surprise move to Aston Villa and the likes of Rob Holdng and Shkodran Mustafi are yet to fully convince the manager.
