Barcelona want to sign an experienced central defender in January and according to Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal man Laurent Koscielny has been identified as an option.
The Gunners defender has been sidelined since the back-end of last season but has recently seen his future at the club come into question.
Koscielny confirmed that he had hung up his boots from international duty with France’s national team in recent times and it seems he could be set for pastures new at club level.
Barcelona are well-stocked with high-quality options in central defence but Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo indicate that they are keen on adding more experience to the ranks, with Samuel Umtiti’s knee injury evidently a cause for concern.
Koscielny has yet to play for Arsenal this season and it remains unclear as to whether he is in new boss Unai Emery’s plans for the future.
However, as the January transfer window draws ever nearer, it seems the 33-year-old defender is a wanted man despite his ongoing injury woes at the Emirates.
