Arsenal youngster Reiss Nelson says he must score more goals and also track back and build the play to go further in his career, according to the Daily Cannon.
The 18-year-old has had a phenomenal spell so far on loan at Hoffenheim, scoring his fifth goal at the weekend with a magnificent effort to give his side the lead as they went on to win 4-1.
However, the impressive start to life in Germany has not gotten into the teenager’s head as he has admitted that he needs to keep working hard and improving other sides of his game.
“Every day I’m training hard and I’m trying to get into the starting eleven,” Nelson told Bundesliga.com. “I think I can bring goals to the team as well, but it is just the start of my career here. I need to just keep pushing and score as many goals as I can
“Not just goals, but doing other things for the team like tracking back and getting involved with the play and hopefully I can go on.”
His goal contribution is better than many would have hoped for, with all five of his goals and his one assist being vital contributions rather than efforts to wrap up games.
Two of his goals have been equalizers, one has gotten his side back in the game after going two goals down, while two have given his side the lead.
However, he could improve on his average of one chance created per game, as he possesses very good dribbling abilities.
And he’ll need to improve his tracking back a lot if he is to succeed in Unai Emery high pressing side when he returns to Arsenal.
