MATTEO GUENDOUZI has sent a classy message to Danny Welbeck after he sustained a serious ankle injury during their Europa League draw with Sporting Lisbon.
Welbeck was taken off on a stretcher at the half-hour mark during yesterday’s stalemate with Sporting.
The England international landed awkwardly on his right ankle after attempting to head the ball in the box.
Welbeck is expected face a lengthy spell on the sidelines after the Gunners described his the injury as “significant”.
“Danny remains in hospital and will continue to be assessed,” the club said on Friday afternoon.
“A further update will be issued over the next 72 hours.”
Following the game, a number of Arsenal players sent well wishes to Welbeck in the wake of his injury.
One of which came from youngster Guendouzi.
“Danny, we are all thinking of you,” he said a the clip posted on Arsenal’s social media.
And fans were quick to laud Guendouzi for his kind words.
“What a brilliant gesture by @MatteoGuendouzi. Come back stronger @DannyWelbeck. We love you,” one fan wrote.
Another said: “Pure class from the young man.”
“Aw! Our French sideshow bob baby. He’s so considerate. I love him. Get well soon, Danny,” a third fan commented.
