Ivan Gazidis has officially terminated his contract with Arsenal in order to complete his move to AC Milan, according to reports from the Italian media.
The South African’s contract with the Gunners ended on the 31st of October and he will now begin his role as CEO of AC Milan after a month break.
He will be taking over duties from current Milan Executive President Paolo Scaroni and has revealed his excitement at joining the club.
“I am very excited to take on this new challenge, and will do everything I can to secure AC Milan’s return to the top. I have a head start in this project thanks to the talented players, hard-working staff, and the sporting leadership of Leonardo De Araujo, Paolo Maldini and Gennaro Gattuso.” He said.
“I am grateful for the trust placed in me by Chairman Paolo Scaroni, the AC Milan board, and the club’s owners.”
Gazidis joined Arsenal in 2008 and has been instrumental in building Arsenal into a financially independent club and arguably his greatest achievement will be the manner with which he oversaw a successful transition from Arsene Wenger’s era.
