Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Polish starlet Sebastian Walukiewicz after being shortlisted by the head of recruitment Sven Mislintat.
The teenager, who currently plays in his homeland for Pogon Szczecin, is understood to be viewed as a long-term option in the centre of Unai Emery’s back four.
Football.London suggests that 18-year-old has been watched up close by the Gunners scouts this season, having only made his breakthrough into the first team towards the end of the last season.
Many other sides have been tipped to make a move for the former Legia Warsaw man, however, including Spanish champions Barcelona and arch-rivals Espanyol.
Sebastian Walukiewicz has featured in 13 of Pogon’s 15 league fixtures this season, with all but one of those coming as starts.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal will secure the services of the young defender because Rob Holding is expected to be the future centre-back at Emirates, who will be irreplaceable for many years.
But many view him sceptically and believe that the Gunners need serious bolstering in that area to become genuine title contenders.
